Process
This job aid describes the Spending Authority Indicators including Restrictions for Budget Structures.
Appropriate Budget Transactions
Appropriated budget transactions (those that are approved by the Legislature) will have the following SAIs:
SAI 01: Long Bill
SAI 02: Special Bill
SAI 03: Supplemental Bill
SAI 06: Capital Construction Reversion
SAI 07: Transfer In and Out
SAI 08:Capital Construction Carryforward
Non-Appropriated Budget Transactions
Non-Appropriated Budget transactions (those that are not approved by the Legislature) will have the following SAIs:
SAI 04: Custodial
SAI 05: Rollforward
SAI 07: Transfer In and Out
SAI 10: Statutory
SAI 11: Interred/Duplicative
Restrictions:
● The recording of a restriction is an increase/decrease to an existing budget.
● To create a consistent approach to track restrictions of budget in CORE, a new set of SAIs was created.
● Restriction increases or decreases will be performed on a budget (BG) transaction using the appropriate SAI and Event Type.
● The total amount of decreased restrictions cannot exceed the total amount of increased restrictions.
