Click the Done button.
Note: This is an optional verification method. Upon signing in you will be able to choose between using email for verification or using the Google Authenticator for verification.
Pro Tip: If you have multiple authentication codes Google Authenticator allows you to edit the name for each code. For Google Authenticator on Apple (iPhone) you will finger swipe from right to left on the code. For the Google Authenticator on the Android operating system you will swipe from left to right on the code. This will give you the option to edit by clicking the Pencil icon or delete the code by clicking the Trashcan icon.
Clicking the Pencil icon will take you to the Edit Account Screen. Enter the desire name in the Account name field and then click the save button.
Using a Recovery Code if you need to sign in without your device:
When you sign in, choose "Enter a recovery code" instead of using your Authenticator app for the verification code.
Enter the recovery code that you saved when you activated Google Authenticator.
NOTE: You can use each recovery code only once.
Don't have a Google Account? Did you know you can still use Google Authenticator? You can save the verification codes on your device. This way, you won't need to sync them with a Google account. This means you'll be responsible for your backup codes, and you won't need a Google account to access your codes.
To use Google Authenticator without a Google account:
Open the Google Authenticator app on your device.
When prompted, select "Use without an account" or "Don't log in".
Add accounts by scanning QR codes or entering the setup key provided by the service you want to add.
Remember to save the backup codes (also called recovery keys) provided during the setup process in a secure location. You'll need them to recover your accounts if you lose access to the authenticator.
Tip: Apple Passwords is Apple's built-in password manager that stores passwords and other sensitive data, including 2FA codes. It uses encryption and Apple's security features to protect this information. Google Authenticator and Apple Passwords don’t talk to each other. But users can still move 2FA codes between the two. You can either type them into Apple Passwords or scan a QR code to add them.
