Setting Up the Fixed Percentage Method of Allocation
Process
This job aid describes functions pertaining to Cost Allocation setup: Setup the Fixed Percentage Method of Allocation.
Use Global Search by Page Code to open a page
On the Global Search bar, click the drop-down.
Check the Page Code check box:
In the Global Search bar enter: ALOC
Select ALOC Cost Allocation Control Setup
Navigate to ALOC Table
3. Click Create
Setup the ALOC page.
a. Enter the Allocation ID and Description.
b. Select the Allocation Frequency.
c. Select Collected Revenues as the Allocation Type.
d. Select Pool for all the Inheritance Type fields.
e. Select Save.
4. Select the 3 dot menu on the top right and click on the Cost Allocation Series setup link option
a. Click on Create
b. Type 1 in the Series ID field.
c. Enter the Series Description.
d. Leave the Inheritance Type fields set to Default.
e. Select Save.
5. Set up the Step page for Step 1.
Select the 3 dot menu on the top right and click on the Cost Allocation Step Setup link.
a. Click Create in the top right side of the screen
b. Type 1 in the Step No field.
c. Enter the Description.
d. Select Fixed Percentage from the Base Type list.
e. Select the Inheritance Type for each field.
i. Base - Fund and Department/Unit.
ii. Pool - All remaining inheritance fields.
f. Select Save.
6. Setup the STEP page for Step 2.
a. Select Create in the top right side of the screen.
b. Type 2 in the Step No field.
c. Enter the Description.
d. Select Fixed Percentage from the Base Type.
e. Select the Inheritance Type for each field.
i. Base - Fund and Department/Unit.
ii. Pool - All remaining inheritance fields.
f. Select Save.
7. Setup the STEP page for Step 3.
a. Select Create from the top right side of the screen .
b. Type 3 in the Step No field.
c. Enter the Description.
d. Select Fixed Percentage from the Base Type.
e. Select the Inheritance Type for each field.
i. Base - Fund and Department/Unit.
ii. Pool - All remaining inheritance fields.
f. Select Save.
8. Setup the Step 1 Pool record.
Select 3 dot menu on the right and select Pool/Base Setup link
Select the Pool/Base Setup link.
Select Create
Select Pool from the Pool Base Indicator list.
Enter the Description.
Type 100 in the Allocation Percent field.
Select Save and Close.
9. Setup Step 1 Base 1 record.
Select Create.
Select Base from the Pool Base Indicator list.
Enter the Description and Allocation Percent.
Select Save and Close
10. Setup Step 1 Base 2
Select Create.
Select Base from the Pool Base Indicator list.
Enter the Description and Allocation Percent.
Select Save and Close.
11. Setup Step 1 Base 3
Select Create.
Select Base from the Pool Base Indicator list.
Enter the Description and Allocation Percent.
Select Save and Close.
12. Navigate to Cost Allocation Setup page
Highlight Step #2
Select 3 dot menu on the right and select Pool/Base Setup link
Select the Pool/Base Setup link.
Select Create
13. Setup Step 2 Pool record
Select Pool from the Pool Base Indicator list.
Enter the Description.
Type 100 in the Allocation Percent field.
Select Save and Close.
14. Setup Step 2 Base 1 record.
Select Create.
Select Base from the Pool Base Indicator list.
Enter the Description and Allocation Percent.
Select Save and Close
15. Setup Step 2 Base 2
Select Create.
Select Base from the Pool Base Indicator list.
Enter the Description and Allocation Percent.
Select Save and Close.
16. Setup Step 2 Base 3
Select Create.
Select Base from the Pool Base Indicator list.
Enter the Description and Allocation Percent.
Select Save and Close.
17. Navigate to Cost Allocation Setup page
Highlight Step #3
Select 3 dot menu on the right and select Pool/Base Setup link
Select the Pool/Base Setup link.
Select Create
18. Setup Step 3 Pool record
Select Pool from the Pool Base Indicator list.
Enter the Description.
Type 100 in the Allocation Percent field.
Select Save and Close.
19. Setup Step 3 Base 1 record.
Select Create.
Select Base from the Pool Base Indicator list.
Enter the Description and Allocation Percent.
Select Save and Close
20. Setup Step 3 Base 2
Select Create.
Select Base from the Pool Base Indicator list.
Enter the Description and Allocation Percent.
Select Save and Close.
21. Setup Step 3 Base 3
Select Create.
Select Base from the Pool Base Indicator list.
Enter the Description and Allocation Percent.
Select Save and Close.
22. Navigate to Cost Allocation Setup page
Highlight Step #1
Select 3 dot menu on the right and select Pool/Ba se Setup link
Highlight the Pool of Step 1 record.
Select the Pool/Base Distribution link.
23. Setup the Step 1 Pool Distribution
Select Create.
Select Accounting from the Distribution Type list.
Type 1 in the Accumulation Distribution No field.
Expand the Fund Accounting section for Step 1:
a. Select the Fund Rollup Type.
b. Enter the Fund.
c. Select Revenue from the Obj/Rev Indicator list.
d. Select 1 from the Object/Revenue Source Roll Type pick list.
e. Enter the Object/Revenue Source, Dept, Unit, Appr Unit Rollup Type, and Appr Unit.
f. Select Save.
24. Begin setup of the Base1 for Step 1.
Select the Pool/Base Setup link.
Highlight the Base 1 of Step 1 record.
Select the Pool/Base Distribution link.
Select Create.
Select Accounting from the Distribution Type list.
Type 1 in the Accumulation Distribution No field.
Expand the Fund Accounting section for Step 1 Base 1.
Select the Fund Rollup Type.
Enter the Fund, Dept, and Unit.
Select Save and Close.
25. Begin the setup of Base 2 for Step 1
Select the Pool/Base Setup link.
Highlight the Base 2 of Step 1.
Select the Pool/Base Distribution link.
Select Create.
Select Accounting from the Distribution Type list.
Type 1 in the Accumulation Distribution No field.
Expand the Fund Accounting section for Step 1 Base 2.
Select the Fund Rollup Type.
Enter the Fund, Dept, and Unit.
Select Save.
26. Begin the setup of Base 3 for Step 1
Select the Pool/Base Setup link.
Highlight the Base 3 of Step 1.
Select the Pool/Base Distribution link.
Select Create.
Select Accounting from the Distribution Type list.
Type 1 in the Accumulation Distribution No field.
Expand the Fund Accounting section for Step 1 Base 3.
Select the Fund Rollup Type.
Enter the Fund, Dept, and Unit.
Select Save.
27. Setup the Step 2 Pool Distribution
Select Create.
Select Accounting from the Distribution Type list.
Type 1 in the Accumulation Distribution No field.
Expand the Fund Accounting section for Step 2:
a. Select the Fund Rollup Type.
b. Enter the Fund.
c. Select Revenue from the Obj/Rev Indicator list.
d. Select 1 from the Object/Revenue Source Roll Type pick list.
e. Enter the Object/Revenue Source, Dept, Unit, Appr Unit Rollup Type, and Appr Unit.
f. Select Save and Close.
28. Begin setup of the Base 1 for Step 2.
Select the Pool/Base Setup link.
Highlight the Base 1 of Step 2 record.
Select the Pool/Base Distribution link.
Select Create.
Select Accounting from the Distribution Type list.
Type 1 in the Accumulation Distribution No field.
Expand the Fund Accounting section for Step 2 Base 1.
Select the Fund Rollup Type.
Enter the Fund, Dept, and Unit.
Select Save and Close.
29. Begin setup of the Base 2 for Step 2.
Select the Pool/Base Setup link.
Highlight the Base 2 of Step 2 record.
Select the Pool/Base Distribution link.
Select Create.
Select Accounting from the Distribution Type list.
Type 1 in the Accumulation Distribution No field.
Expand the Fund Accounting section for Step 2 Base 2.
Select the Fund Rollup Type.
Enter the Fund, Dept, and Unit.
Select Save and Close.
30. Begin setup of the Base 3 for Step 2.
Select the Pool/Base Setup link.
Highlight the Base 3 of Step 2 record.
Select the Pool/Base Distribution link.
Select Create.
Select Accounting from the Distribution Type list.
Type 1 in the Accumulation Distribution No field.
Expand the Fund Accounting section for Step 2 Base 3.
Select the Fund Rollup Type.
Enter the Fund, Dept, and Unit.
Select Save and Close.
31. Setup the Step 3 Pool Distribution
Select Create.
Select Accounting from the Distribution Type list.
Type 1 in the Accumulation Distribution No field.
Expand the Fund Accounting section for Step 3:
a. Select the Fund Rollup Type.
b. Enter the Fund.
c. Select Revenue from the Obj/Rev Indicator list.
d. Select 1 from the Object/Revenue Source Roll Type pick list.
e. Enter the Object/Revenue Source, Dept, Unit, Appr Unit Rollup Type, and Appr Unit.
f. Select Save and Close.
32. Begin setup of the Base 1 for Step 3.
Select the Pool/Base Setup link.
Highlight the Base 1 of Step 3 record.
Select the Pool/Base Distribution link.
Select Create.
Select Accounting from the Distribution Type list.
Type 1 in the Accumulation Distribution No field.
Expand the Fund Accounting section for Step 3 Base 1.
Select the Fund Rollup Type.
Enter the Fund, Dept, and Unit.
Select Save and Close.
33. Begin setup of the Base 2 for Step 3.
Select the Pool/Base Setup link.
Highlight the Base 2 of Step 3 record.
Select the Pool/Base Distribution link.
Select Create.
Select Accounting from the Distribution Type list.
Type 1 in the Accumulation Distribution No field.
Expand the Fund Accounting section for Step 3 Base 2.
Select the Fund Rollup Type.
Enter the Fund, Dept, and Unit.
Select Save and Close.
34. Begin setup of the Base 3 for Step 3.
Select the Pool/Base Setup link.
Highlight the Base 3 of Step 3 record.
Select the Pool/Base Distribution link.
Select Create.
Select Accounting from the Distribution Type list.
Type 1 in the Accumulation Distribution No field.
Expand the Fund Accounting section for Step 3 Base 3.
Select the Fund Rollup Type.
Enter the Fund, Dept, and Unit.
Select Save and Close.
