Home > Insights Reporting Tool > Insights Job Aids > Modify Existing Configurable Inquiries (CIs)
This job aid provides steps you can take to modify your existing Configurable Inquiries (CIs).
Step 1: Enter and select CIMYINQ in the Global Search field.
Step 2: Locate the CI you wish to modify, then click the Inquiry Name to open it.
Step 3: To modify the Filters associated with your CI, select the Manage Fields icon.
Step 4: Adjust the filters as necessary, then click Apply.
Step 5: To run your CI, enter your filter value, then click Apply.
Step 6: Your CI results will now be displayed. To modify the CI columns shown in the results grid, click the "Manage Columns" icon in the top right corner.
Step 7: Click Apply once you have made your column modifications (in this example, columns 'First Name' and 'Last Name' were added).
The new columns will not automatically show results. To populate these columns, you must click Apply to rerun your Configuration Item (CI). The column modifications will then appear on the CI results grid after they are applied:
Step 8: Additional modifications are available by clicking the 3-dot menu in the top right corner and selecting Format Fields.
Format Fields: On this screen, you have the ability to modify the display format for fields or columns that contain Number, Date, or Currency values.
Step 9: Once you are done modifying your CI, click the Save As button, located in the upper right corner.
Step 10: On this screen, you can modify both the Inquiry Name and Description.
After making your changes, click Save.
Important: Any modification made to your CI will overwrite the original version, even if you save it with a different name.
Your updated CI is now visible on the CIMYINQ page.
Note: Users who have a CI shared with them will not be able to edit it. The editable options will be greyed out.
The receiving user will need to copy the shared CI they wish to edit, then modify the new copy.
How to Copy the Configurable Inquiry (CI):
Step 1: Open the CI
Step 2: click the 3-dot menu at the top right corner
Step 3: Select Copy.
Note: Users can create a personalized, editable version by selecting the "Save As" option.
Since this action generates a "new" Configurable Inquiry (CI), users can process with the standard modification steps.
