Use this Create UKG Attributes job aid to create attributes for brand new employees, external transfers, and secondary appointments in a new state entity that are utilizing UKG for time reporting and tracking. CORE Payroll has replicated the legacy attribute screens and processes to support system interfaces and data sharing between UKG and the CORE Payroll application.

Before you begin, make sure:
You have the employee ID for the individual whose attributes you want to manage.
You have all the correct and verified attribute information ready to be entered or updated.
Important Information:
Do not use this job aid if you are a business professional whose state entity utilizes an Human Resources Information System (HRIS). Instead, follow your internal processes to update this information.
On the Home Page, click the Employee Profile Management (EPM) QuickLink.

Use Global Search to navigate to the EPM page: Click the expand/collapse (🞂) icon in the search bar, select Page Code, enter EPM, and select EPM Employee Profile Management from the drop-down list.
The EPM activity folder opens to a query.
2. Use the filter fields (e.g., Employee ID) to search for the employee, then click Apply.
—OR—
Click a card in the Recent Searches section to re-run a search you ran previously.
The matching results populate in the grid table at the bottom of the screen.
3. Locate the correct record, then click the View button next to the record to open it.
The record opens to the Employee Status Maintenance tab in the EPM activity folder.
4. Navigate to the Additional Employee Attributes tab.
Note: If the tab isn’t visible, click the 3-dot Show All Tabs menu or the Next arrow on the right-hand side of the screen to view all available tabs.
5. Click the tab-level 3-dot menu and select Create Additional Employee Attributes Small.
The Additional Employee Attributes - Small (AATS) transaction page opens.
6. In the General Information section, enter the From Date in MM/DD/YYYY format or use the calendar picker to select the date.
Note: The date included in the From field, is the date that the information in the AATS transaction will be sent to UKG. This field cannot be backdated.
7. In the UKG Employee Information section, enter the information, as needed, based on your entity’s requirements.
Important Notes:
State entity professionals should copy and paste the information into these fields directly from their agency-specific business structure data to ensure the information does not error out in UKG. While incorrect information might validate in CORE Payroll, once the overnight sharing of data with UKG is completed, it will error out and the state entity professional will need to review the error report from MoveIt. Errors will take multiple days to rectify.
While only the Pay Rule Code field is marked with a red *, the following additional fields are required: Business Structures, Home Job Effective Date,and Pay Rule Effective Date.
BS (Business Structure) & Home Job Effective Date and Pay Rule Effective Date are the only fields that can be backdated.
8. Click the Save button at the top of the page. This action saves the data entry and ensures you don't lose your work when validating or submitting the transaction.
9. Click the Validate button at the top of the page. This action validates data entry and checks for errors.
Confirm that the transaction validated successfully.
If errors are returned, correct the issues in the applicable sections and click Validate again.
10. Once validation is successful, click the Submit button at the top of the page. This action finalizes the transaction and routes the transaction for review and approval.
Confirm that the transaction was submitted successfully.
11. Click the Save & Close button at the top of the page. This action returns to the activity folder.
