Who is responsible for converting department reports from infoAdvantage to Insight?
Departments are responsible for converting their own reports.
Will CORE Operations convert any of our department reports for us?
We will assist with converting a minimal selection of department reports that meet specific criteria, such as being fully custom reports not based on copies of StateWide templates. The agency must provide an “expert” report developer to help translate business requirements for this effort.
What is the required first step for report cleanup and conversion?
You must organize all reports and folders within your infoAdvantage Department folders.
To Keep and Convert: Move reports and folders to the “*Convert to Insight” folder. Reports in this folder are expected to be converted by your agency.
To Delete: Move reports and folders to the “*Delete Before Insight” folder.
What criteria should I use when deciding which reports to delete?
Reports that should be moved to the delete folder or removed entirely include duplicates of StateWide reports, reports that have been run fewer than 1–2 times in the last 12 months, or reports for former staff. Reports being retained as historical records should be run and downloaded to an archive location instead of being converted. With that said, if you do need any reports that fall under the standard deletion criteria, you will still be able to convert the report yourself in Insight if desired.
How do Report Developers convert their reports to Insight (Power BI)?
Report Developers should recreate their desired reports from infoAdvantage in Insight (Power BI) by applying the training they received on how to create an analytic report. The infoAdvantage folder structure (infoAdvantage folders) is simply for organization to help narrow down which reports need conversion. If any of your reports require more than one data model, you will need to convert them into a Paginated Report in Insight.
